Not if you lather on lip-gloss all day every day like I do. “Having too many” is not in my vocabulary when it comes to quantity of lip-gloss. When I become infatuated with a brand or new color, it’s likely I’ll buy two. One goes in my Mini Lulu makeup bag in my purse and the other gets deposited in the bathroom drawer. Reason? Simple…easy access.
In order for a lip-gloss to make it into my inner-sanctum it must meet two essential requirements: no taste and not too sticky. I realize the second requirement is all a matter of personal opinion – but I know you know what I mean. Don’t lie. As for taste, who wants to be licking apple pie or lavender all day? Not me. Not now. Not ever.
As I’ve aged (verification in my About Me profile…but, I won’t make you leave the page to check. I’m almost 46.), I’ve noticed that my lips have beautiful fine lines crawling outward. Do you know what this means? All color bleeds out over time. Why? I have no idea. That‘s a question for Wikipedia.
All I know is no blender, holder, puffer, sealer or liner works in holding the color in place. And I refuse to use injections or that ‘stay all day’ lip color. That’s too close to getting a tattoo in my book. Then you’d need heavy-duty makeup remover at the end of the day…and I’m already running the 12-step program before bedtime. We’ll save that for another post.
I have happily resigned to the glory of lip-gloss. It’s heavenly, moisturizing, sheer, smooth and doesn’t require a pre or post-step to look fantastic all the time. Try any of my favorites. I promise you won’t be sorry. Although you may be pissed that you have to buy two.
